Game Company Exploits Dead Gorilla To Market In-App Purchases
“For all we know, that gorilla hated technology,” says Jesus Whitmore, owner of Dead Gorilla Games and maker of Zoo Defender – a hot new app that lets people kill all sorts of animals in the name of entertainment.
Jesus admits that some people would be offended by creating a game so soon after the tragedy where a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo picked up a child who fell into it’s enclosure, but stated “he didn’t care”.
“Look, nothing is going to bring that gorilla back. The child is safe, we need to move on. I only named my company Dead Gorilla Games to jump on the bandwagon. News organizations generate revenue by reporting the story, I’m generating revenue by reporting the story as well – just as a game instead.”
While the core game is free to download to Android and Apple devices, gamers can upgrade their weapons and unlock other parts of a zoo where they can blast rhinos, hippos, giraffes, and tortoises.
