56 inmates at Alabama’s Duncan Correctional Facility found an ingenious way to get PlayStation 4 consoles into each of their prison cells by claiming that PlayStation Plus -Sony’s subscription service, is a form of worship.

Working with lawyers, an inmates threatened to sue the facility stating that the prison was encroaching on their freedom of religion.  The facility caved, and Alabama’s citizens are now footing the bill via taxes to pay for the prisoners game time.  Each cell is fitted with a PlayStation 4, and a 36 inch Sony Bravia TV.  The prisoners are allowed to connect the console to the prison’s wifi system and access the rich content the PlayStation 4 has to offer through the PlayStation Plus service.  Games can also be purchased through the prison’s commissary.

“Praise PlayStation!” said prisoner #04562389, an inmate convicted of robbing and killing an elderly couple for $9.  “May we all prosper during today’s Street Fighter V tournament!”

“Amen” shouted the rest of the prisoners.
