cactus-14A London app developer to launch #BringBackOurGirls The Video Game to smart devices later this year.

Boko Haram is popular for all the wrong reasons, specifically because he’s allegedly kidnapped hundreds of school girls and promises to release them in exchange for the freedom of jailed militants.  And now a London app developer is putting the final touches on a video game based on the conflict.

The Gaming Free Press got in contact with Julea Quinn, a spokesperson for Lemon Kibble Studios who is developing the game.  She shared the following:

“#BringBackOurGirls: The Video Game is inspired by many popular smart device games including Candy Crush, Angry Birds, and Fruit Ninja.  It features 1024 levels, and 256 unlockable ‘victims’ – approximately the same number of suspected girls believed to be in Boko Haram’s possession.”

But not all people are happy with the news of the game.  Shortly after the announcement Lemon Kibble Studios got flooded with hate mail.  Some of the comments included:

“Candy Crush is so 2013, couldn’t you make a game based on something else?”

“I think we could do without another Candy Crush clone.  Why can’t you do something original for a change?”

But Julea insists the game will satisfy everyone: “BringBackOurGirls: the Video Game will cost no more than $2 in their respective app stores, and all proceeds will go towards the beautification of our breakroom.  So as you can see, this is win-win for everyone.”

The Gaming Free Press will continue to follow this story as it develops.
