frogFederal Agents Conduct Sting Operation Effectively Ending “Battletoads Tournament”

19 men and 3 women are rotting in jail tonight after participating in what the government has labeled as a “Battletoads tournament.”  Considered to be the cock-fighting equivalent but with frogs and toads the Battletoads tournament took place at one of the participants home in Calavera County California.  Two frogs (or toads) would be placed in a box with various weapons and other instruments taped to their arms and legs and were expected to fight to the death.  One frog allegedly had a loaded gun strapped to its back.

In addition to the arrests more than 30 exotic amphibians were seized.  Staffers from the Gaming Free Press were dispatched to the crime scene early Monday morning not realizing the tournament had nothing to do with the popular video game Rare released on the original Nintendo Entertainment System.
