Social media exploded this morning after it was revealed that Namco has re-imaged their popular Yoshimitsu character for their upcoming Tekken 7 game.
The armored-devil like character has undergone a variety of redesigns over the past several incarnations of Tekken, but the latest is the most bizarre. Featuring tentacles and an alien-like exo-skeleton the character is nothing like the one presented in the original Tekken back in the mid 1990’s.
Namco was quick to mitigate the damage and released the following statement:
“We apologize for the disappointment over the re-imaged Yoshimitsu. While it is too late to change the character’s appearance for the up coming Tekken 7 game we will commit to drug testing our game designers going forward.”
