Classic PC Doom From 1992 Is Being Released In Handheld Form

The Gaming Free Press has received a preview of Target’s exclusive Doom Handheld game which will officially debut at E3 this year.  The game which appears to be play exactly like the original MS-DOS version comes in a shell shaped like a computer.  All of the levels, weapons, enemy behavior and sounds seem to be spot on.  It is uncertain as of this writing if the game is emulated, or simply reprogrammed.

A few months ago Target released a similar handheld which had the game Oregon Trail on it to critical success.

The Doom Handheld is expected to be available on December 10th, exactly on the 25th anniversary of the release of the original game.
