berzerkGamers come home to find their consoles and televisions stolen.

Across the United States thousands of gamers waited in freezing rain to pick up Destiny at midnight launch parties at various GameStops and Best Buy retail outlets.  Unbeknownst to many of them as they waiting in line drinking their Red Bulls and Mountain Dews clever burglars were wiping out their personal possessions.

Starting around 12:30pm on the east coast 911 operators started to receive reports from distraught gamers who returned home with their copies of Destiny but who were unable to play them because their video game consoles or televisions or sometimes both were taken out of their homes without their permission.

“This sucks,” repeated one gamer over and over on a 911 recording released by Miami/Dade County.

Deputy Sergeant Clement Aidde from the Green River Municipal Police force of Green River Utah explained “This problem is only going to get worst in the coming years.  These gamers post on the social media about how they are going to these launch parties, and all of a sudden our switch boards light up shortly after the launch.  God help us if a really good game is ever released.”
