After Nintendo promised to reissue select Amiibos stores started slashing prices on current stock.
Toon Link, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Mega Man have all been reported marked down to $4.99 at several retailers including Target, Walmart, and Fry’s Electronics. One report quoted Toy’s R Us as having them marked at $5.99 or two for $10.
This might be good news for collectors who found $15 for a Nintendo toy to be out of the question, but it could also infer that the glass ceiling for Amiibo collecting has been reached. Whatever the case might be a reissue of the rare Amiibos including Wii Fit Girl and Villager will quickly dilute their value.
