William Brookshire is the proud winner of a Final Fantasy Trapper Keeper after dropping $27,000 on an eBay auction.
The Boston born middle school English teacher has always been a fan of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy themed Trapper Keeper surfaced on eBay a little over a week ago he knew he had to have it.
“My wife will kill me when she finds out how much I spent for it, but it’s a collector’s item, and nice things don’t come cheap.” explains William.
The Final Fantasy Trapper Keeper wasn’t an official release from Mead or Square and the artwork appears to be photo copy of the popular Nintendo NES game. William speculates that it was probably shown at an Consumer Electronic Show in the late 1980’s or early 90’s.
The Trapper Keeper was a must have school supply for children who grew up in the 1980’s. The fancy over binder was design to hold folders and other items and sealed with a button, velcro, or more recently a magnet. They came in a variety of colors and designs and was a badge of popular in schools all across the country.
The Gaming Free Press asked William if its possible that the Final Fantasy Trapper Keeper was a forgery, but he and the seller insists its not.
